NIH Seeking Public Comment On DSM Autism Update【USA】
Nearly a year after new diagnostic criteria for autism took effect, the National Institutes of Health is asking everyone from families to health experts to weigh in on the changes.
The NIH has issued a request for information urging stakeholders to speak up about implications they are seeing stemming from the revised Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

My son Paul was denied placement on the heart transplant list because of his mental disability. The doctor was more interested in the fact that he could not name all his medications (he takes 19 at the present time) and the Princess Peach doll he carries for comfort (he now carries a Princess Daisy as well), than the fact that he has never smoked or drank alcohol. Where will the discrimination end?

東海ゴム工業 知的障がい者施設における人形劇開催施設を募集【名古屋】
東海ゴム工業は19日より、名古屋市を拠点に活動する劇団「ひと組」との協働による、知的障がい者施設での人形劇公演「さんさん出前劇場」の開催施設を募集する。「さんさん出前劇場」は、同社が社会貢献活動の一環として２００８年度にスタートした活動で、今年度で６回目となる。施設へ出向いて人形劇を披露することで、入所者に家族と一緒に観劇を楽しんでもらうことが目的だ。過去５回の公演では感謝や御礼の手紙が数多く寄せられ、公演の意義を再認識したという。同社は、心温まる感動的な公演に期待してほしいとしている。出張公演を希望する場合、同社人事総務部まで応募のこと。

「魔法のじゅうたんプロジェクト」の成果報告会【東京】
情報端末を活用して障がいのある子どもたちの生活や学習支援に役立てることを目指した「魔法のじゅうたんプロジェクト」の成果報告会が東京大学先端科学技術研究センターで開催された。
東京大学先端科学技術研究センターとソフトバンクグループは、携帯電話・スマートフォン等の情報端末を活用して障がいのある子どもたちの生活や学習支援に役立てることを目指した「魔法のプロジェクト」を２００９年から実施している。２０１２年からは「魔法のじゅうたんプロジェクト」をスタート。携帯情報端末を学校外に持ち出すことも想定し、幅広い活用場面での取り組みを行っている。

障がいのある子どもたちの絵画コンクール作品募集／三菱地所【東京】
三菱地所は、障がいのある子どもたちの絵画コンクール「１１回キラキラっとアートコンクール」の作品を７月２日から９月２１日まで募集する。文科省などが後援する。
障がい者のアート作品約３２００点をストックする社会福祉法人東京コロニーアートビリティの協力を得て０２年にスタートした絵画コンクール。何らかの障がいのある１８歳までが応募可能で、児童美術教育研究家の高森俊氏ら審査員が選出した優秀賞５０作品は全国６会場で展示会を開く。
ホームページ（http://www.kira-art.jp）では全応募作品を公開する。前回は過去最多の１５５０作品の応募があった。

Ability Theatre will allow individuals of all abilities with special needs to explore their creative sides through dance and movement, song, theatre games, and acting, with the end goal being to perform in front of a live audience. The goal is to offer teens and adults an imaginative experience to create lasting friendships, but more importantly to inspire and unite the community through theatre.
