The situation in Canada is not unique. Many countries worldwide do not cope with the increasing number of cases that place children on the spectrum this way or another. Be it typical autism, Asperger’s or PDD-nos, children need supervision – and without it, their right to education is at risk of being not fulfilled. Serious funds reviews are overdue when it comes to providing practical support for schools with autistic children in classrooms.

Whether we like it or not, autism is still on the rise, in fact more than ever, and chances are every school will have to deal with the issue sooner or later. Without governmental support, this is a disaster waiting to happen.
