鋭い感覚を持つ障害者と多様な分野のプロフェッショナルが共同で生み出した新しい芸術表現を発表する国際展「ヨコハマ・パラトリエンナーレ２０１４」が、 象の鼻テラス（横浜市中区）で開催中だ。障害者の能力を生かした芸術表現の在り方を提案する初めての取り組み。９件の作品を展示するほか、パフォーマンス を随時行う。

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Kennedy Krieger Institute and Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) announced today that a first-of-its-kind, free online video tutorial on early autism recognition will be distributed to member pediatricians throughout the state. Developed by autism researchers at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, the goal of the tutorial is to improve recognition of the early signs of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in one-year-olds among pediatricians, parents and early intervention providers.

A new study by the journal Pediatrics has shown an increase in the incidence of autism among those who have an older sibling on the spectrum. This new information could give families and doctors an edge when screening for Autism Spectrum Disorders and ensure earlier intervention and therapy for kids on the spectrum.

Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) Specialist, Simone Sewell helps Sam incorporate the recommended diet into her family’s dietary regime. This will hopefully assist her in giving her autistic son Mickey the nutrients that he’s been lacking in his diet.

Nutritionist Jonathan Tommey meets autism mom Sam Sykes who shares her experience with her 4-year-old son, Mickey. Sam mentions how she noticed that Mickey’s vocabulary was shrinking, that he developed a glazed expression, and has sever dietary issues. Jonathan uses this information to recommend a diet that could make life easier for Sam.

Samantha Sykes is a young, 25-year-old single autism mother to her 4-year-old son Mickey. Samantha is a strong woman who needs a little push to remind her that the obstacles of her son’s autism shouldn’t bring her down. Her love for her son shines through in the way they interact and how she cares for him.
